STRENGTH TRAINING
Just as it is for elite athletes, training for strength and power is essential for our personal-training clients.
The battle to maintain lean body mass is challenging and eternal. It gets harder with age. But it’s winnable—especially with professional help.
Our strength, and our ability to produce explosive power diminish quickly, starting as early as age 30. So all sessions at PUSH include appropriate progressions of power development and maintenance.
At PUSH, we help you focus on full-body strength training, with constant assessment and individualized, balanced programming. Being able to achieve and maintain good strength gives you an edge when you take on day-to-day stresses like climbing stairs, sprinting across a busy street, moving furniture, playing with children or weekend pick-up sports.
Also, we begin all strength-training sessions with techniques that improve the soft tissue quality, such as foam rolling and other myofascial release methods. Often, you can decrease nagging aches and pains in the low back, hips and knees with improvement in tissue quality. Along with increasing flexibility and joint mobility, this significantly reduces your chances of injury, which keeps you moving—happily—toward achieving your goals.
